Chanel Nº5 revolutionizes luxury brand advertising
For decades, the most famous perfume in the world has been connected with a famous style icon. In 1969, Chanel debuted its first advertising film for Chanel Nº5, and Australian actress Nicole Kidman has been the face of the classic advertising campaign since 2004. Chanel has refocused media efforts to the internet, revolutionizing advertising in the luxury brand segment.
“I always launch my collection on the 5th day of the 5th month, it seems to bring me luck. That’s why I want to call my perfume Nº5,” said Coco Chanel.
With her motto as inspiration, our campaign was set to go 5 days with the big reveal on May 5th. We surprised and enchanted the online community with mysterious banners. Visitors from fashion and new portals were the first to see the exciting images of the 5 appearing in the banners, full of promise.
Finally, on the 5th, Audrey Tatou was presented as the new face of Chanel Nº5. Visitors to the website that we had set in place could watch the entire image film shot by director Jean-Pierre Jeunet as well as explore extensive background information.
